Our Vision To be a top
rated, disability NGO with focus on promoting the creativities/potentials
of people with disabilities and to achieve a lot for our group
politically, socially, economically, and vice versa.
NAHCAN Mission
Statement Our mission is to undertake activities and programmes
that will promote and enhance social, political and economic empowerment
of the disabled people to enable them occupy their rightful place in the
society, and also to ensure that favourable laws, policies and
legislations are made to promote and enhance their fundamental human
rights, equal participation and opportunities, economics and social
welfare.
NAHCAN Objectives The
following are the objectives that informed the establishment of
NAHCAN.

To Unite all Nigerian
Handicapped people irrespective of their social, political, economical
backgrounds, ethnicity or nature of disability.

To promote public awareness
among the able and disabled populace on happenings in the society or
nation that affects their lives and rights.

To debunk the erroneous belief
that disabled people are intellectually inferior and as such intellectually
incapable to author books, engage in journalism, etc. To
correct the social imbalance in employment opportunities available for
the disabled Nigerian and to make contact with employment agencies both
private and public on the provision of jobs for, handicapped
Nigerians.

To establish a handicapped telecommunications systems like Telephone, Fax, IBM Typewriters,
Computers, etc and to undertake the training of handicapped person in
handling these equipment, education, journalism, etc.

To influence the profession and
self-reliance of the special needs person and to discourage destitution,
emphasize welfare and support for the special need person and thus help
managed the destitute people off the streets.
Funding/Sponsorship NAHCAN as a not for profit organization
rely on finance or revenue accruing from sales of some
of its product to members of the public like the magazine and newspapers,
calendars, greeting cards handmade artworks, etc. Our patrons also made
donations as well as corporate organisations and government. Individual
philanthropists as well as international donor agencies are also welcome
to assist us in fulfilling our responsibilities to our fellow disabled
brothers and sisters in need as well as finance and execute our various
projects.
Membership NAHCAN is open to
all desiring to be a member of Carers family you may come from any
profession whether you are disabled or not people who cares for the well
being of disabled, orphan, old age and invalid, etc. Carer givers can be
anybody who is interested in working for humanity. Categories of
membership includes (i) Student Members (ii) Ordinary Members and (iii)
Associate/Patrons Donor members.
Why we need your support Ideas
are preponderant but lack of funds and support is thwarting our lofty
goals and objectives of taking the disabled out of their present hopeless
situation where begging and destitution is the order of the day. Help us
to put as stop to this public menace, your support morally financially can
go a long way and serves as a catalyst towards our growth and development
as well as entrenching positive attitudinal and behavioral change and
patterns towards the disabled by the Nigerian Public.
